Velammal Innovation Summit Awards 2018, celebrated the achievements of hundreds of doctors throughout India by recognizing their excellence in innovation. VISA aimed at recognizing the innovative solutions that are able to address the challenges faced in healthcare. It served as a platform where forward thinking doctors displayed their remarkable innovations. VISA 2018 evaluated all kinds of new methods and technologies which aids in the amelioration of health care provided in the country.

    The summit was scheduled on 10th November, 2018 at Ida Scudder Auditorium, Velammal village in the esteemed presence of the Hon’ble Governor of Tamil Nadu, Thiru Banwarilal Purohit. The Chairman, Shri M.V. Muthuramalingam,Velammal Educational Trust, Dr.S.Geethalakshmi, Vice chancellor, The Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R. Medical University, Dr.C.Palanivelu, Chairman GEM group hospitals and Dr.RajaMuthiah, Dean, Velammal Medical College Hospital & Research Institute honoured the occasion.

    A total of 20 doctors were shortlisted for presenting their innovation in VISA, 2018. Keeping their innovations in mind and continuing with the legacy to recognize those who have set benchmarks of excellence towards the healthcare system, the Grand Jury selected the top three honorees.

    The winners were awarded their prizes by the Hon’ble Governor of Tamil Nadu at the grand award ceremony held at the Ida Scudder Auditorium, Velammal village. The Hon’ble governor congratulated the winners.
